milos island - adamas store Travelling: by ferry boat - unfortunately still in Greece ferry schedule are published very late for the whole summer period. In April and May, September and October schedules change quite often. Don't discourage! There are always plenty of ferries, amongst which the fast ones which can take you to Milos from Pireaus in 4 hours. Just be patient and consult sites on line. HINT: if you check the availability much ahead, the answer given is that on that day there is no boat: It isn't so! They just don't have yet the schedule available. Now there are good and fast connections for the island of Sifnos, Folegandros, Santorini. By plane - two daily flights from Athens Venizelos Airport - 25 min. Book ahead! Also, because of the daily ferry connection with Santorini, you may consider flying there and be in Milos in 2,5 hours.

Inland Transportation: by car/motorbike/beach buggies/bicyckels- Roads are very good. Renters offers a variety of models, including 4x4. 5 gas stations. Prices change according to the season. By Taxi - stations in Adamas +30.22870.22219 and Triovasalos +30.22870.21306 - fixed fares posted at the Adamas taxi station. By bus - Bus lines to Provatas, Pollonia, Triovassalos, Tripiti, Plaka, Sarakiniko, Paliohori. Tickets on board.

For Sailors - Serviced peer in Adamas. Refueling in Adamas and Pollonia. Launching slides in Pollonia and Adamas. Several bays in the Southern coast and in the gulf.

Boat Renting and Tours - from Adamas and Pollonia depart many boats for short and long trips. Advertisement and information by hotels, room renters,tourist offices and locally.

Museums - Archaeological Museum - Plaka - open 8:30-15:00 except Mon. Folk Museum - Plaka - open Tue,Sat 10:00-14:00 and 18:30-21:30, Sun. 10:00-14:00. Mining Museum - Adamas - open 09:00-14:00 and 18:00-21:00. Also visit Catacombs (Tripiti) and the archaeological site of Filakopi.

Milos festivalEvents - Every summer the Municipality of Milos organizes a "Festival" with several cultural events, shows, music, theatre. The program is known early July. Worth attending are the "panighiri": churches celebrating saints' names with an Orthodox Mess, and then food and music where local people enjoy Greek dancing.
